Hi, I’m Ashley — founder of By Design Tutoring.I specialize in helping struggling, emergent and dyslexic readers develop the foundational skills they need to read with confidence. Using the McMurtrey Method — a structured, multisensory approach rooted in Orton-Gillingham principles — I provide clear, step-by-step instruction that strengthens decoding, spelling, vocabulary and comprehension.But before the lesson plan comes the child.I take time to understand each student’s learning style, personality, and pace — creating a supportive environment where they feel safe to try, struggle, and grow. My goal isn’t just progress on paper, but lasting confidence and genuine skill development.I work with both homeschool and traditional school students and collaborate with parents to ensure consistent support.I also offer dyslexia screenings for families seeking clarity and direction.
